REHABILITATIVE SHOEING
Glue-on Composite shoes have advantages for the horse in many ways, especially when it comes to hoof rehabilitation. With the glue and composite materials, the hoof care provider has infinite ability to build prosthetic hoof to help the horse while they heal. These materials have a similar durometer (tensile strength and hardness) to the the hoof material as well.
These shoes need to be changed when the horse is due for a trim and depending on the type of rehabilitation that needs to be accomplished, these shoes might be changed as early as 3 weeks or as long as 8-12 weeks depending on the situation and how much hoof the horse needs to grow!
